The PTA is immensely grateful for the many caregivers and community members who volunteer to support Darnestown ES students!

Before volunteering in an MCPS school, volunteers who regularly support school activities, chaperone field trips, or serve in other ongoing roles MUST complete the MCPS volunteer process.

Getting Started:

• Complete the MCPS Volunteer Form (Parent/Guardian & Community Volunteer Form or the Virtual Classroom Volunteer Form, as applicable).
• Complete the required online 'Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect' training. The course is available in multiple languages, and you must earn 100% completion. After finishing, save your completion report/grade sheet as proof of completion.
• Submit both documents to Darnestown ES before volunteering:
  • Your completed MCPS Volunteer Form
  • Your training completion report showing 100%
